A return!

It’s been an unbelievably long three years since I last ventured onto these pages, having a semi-enforced break. Much has happened in that time.

Let’s start with Amazon, home for many a self-published book. Because nothing ever runs smoothly for yours truly, I somehow managed to end up with two author accounts for self-publishing. Nothing too unusual there, except both were linked to the exact same email address, and giving different access depending on which password I entered. Wanting a bit of a tidy-up, I asked Amazon how to rectify this. It took several calls, to a number of different people, before it was fixed, and I had a single login again.

Unfortunately, this ended up wiping my bookshelf, reports, and everything else! Frustrating, but not as much as when I tried to re-upload and found issues with the previously-uploaded manuscripts. Corrupted, missing, incomplete, earlier drafts. Yep. Think I hit them all on my searches. The covers were completely lost.

Outside of that, it’s been a busy personal time, as my kids have all hit those magical ages where the three of them are now in three different schools, running multiple activities inside and outside of their studies. As the only one who drives in the house, and my partner (who did secure her license late last year) working nights, there goes what precious little free time I had left. Being honest, I’ve been running on fumes in my personal life for a while.

Work, meanwhile, has been tumultuous, with a wave of changes and opportunities that have left me exhausted at the end of the week.

Put it all together, and you’ll see why I’ve been away for a while. Although, I’ve not been inactive. I’ve tracked down the latest of the earlier drafts (finding them on tiny little USB drives), and looking at some updated covers. I’ve been sketching out a couple of ideas – scifi, horror, fantasy, sequels, and short stories. I just need to pick up some writing exercises to get back into the swing of things.

So… you’ll see me again. Sooner than you think!
